On July 27, 2025, Kathy went to the ER for what she thought was a kidney stone. She had been experiencing severe back pain and could hardly function. After multiple scans and tests, the doctor gave her the news she didn't expect. Stage 2 Kidney Cancer. She has been placed on the surgery list on an urgent basis to have a kidney removed. At that time, the doctors will assess what the next steps in her treatment will be (radiation, chemotherapy etc.). Surgery is expected in six weeks and then she will have the post-op recovery.

Kathy is a single mother to six children. She provides for her children through her cleaning business which she operates as a sole proprietor. It is uncertain at this time if her pain can be controlled enough for her to continue working while waiting for surgery. Plus there is the post-op recovery time.

I am starting this GoFundMe to try to ease Kathy's financial burden as she navigates this scary and uncertain time. I hope the community can help rally around this single mother. Thank you for any help you can give.

The funds will be used for Kathy and her children's living expenses during her recovery and the time period she can't work.
