Kathy Kinser Alford Emergency Housing

Dear friends, family and village, I have found myself in an unexpected housing dilemma. I am facing for the first time in my life, the possibility of being homeless! A combination of unfortunate events has led to this situation, not the least of which is that my dear friend and owner of the house in which I've been living, died suddenly about a month ago. I am living on extremely limited resources due to health and personal issues. In fact, I was only able to afford to live here due to the generosity of my friend who has passed. While her family was in no rush to have me vacate her home, I received notice last week from the lawyer representing the executor of the estate, that I had to be out of the house by Nov. 1st.  This is an extremely short period of time by which to find low income housing, all of which have long waiting lists. I am now forced to look for a short-term solution until I can secure a more stable permanent residence.

 
I am seeking your help for whatever financial assistance you may be able to spare that will hopefully give me the funds to pay for temporary housing. This is a difficult and humbling experience. Asking others for financial help goes against my makeup, but these are exceptional times wherein I am facing a true housing emergency with no easy solution. I can only say that with your help, I will be able to feel secure and warm as winter sets in and paying it forward will be my life’s goal.
