Kathy Valenzuela's Cancer Fight
We, the family and children of Kathy Valenzuela have started this campaign for our beloved, courageous and beautiful mother.
Kathy, affectionately known as 'Greeneyez' is only 56 years old. She just celebrated her birthday in the hospital on Friday, August 16th.

Kathy is a loving wife to Raul and mother to her 4 children, Desiree, Leah, Mandel and Emiliana. Kathy is a cherished sister, adored daughter and friend to many in Tacoma, Roy, Mexico and beyond. Between her 4 children, Kathy has a total of 9 grandchildren!!
What started out as a short hospital stay for a hip replacement surgery turned into more then 6 weeks and we are still here today. Kathy arrived at the hospital on July 23rd and has been there ever since.

During hip replacement surgery the doctors realized that some of Kathy's bone tissue was soft. After testing her cells they discovered that Kathy has stage 4 cancer. They have yet to find the origination of the cancer because it has enlarged so rapidly.
Even with this devastating news, Kathy was determined to go home. She was doing physical therapy daily and working on being strong so that she could begin out patient chemotherapy.
During a bed transfer to insert a port for chemotherapy Kathy's hip was dislocated from the recent surgery. This really set her healing back and the doctors decided they would need to take out the recently repaired hip replacement as they could not get the replacement back into place. Kathy would have to undergo chemotherapy in a wheelchair.
While trying to heal from a 2nd surgery we received more heartbreaking news. The cancer has now metastasized through Kathy's body a into her lungs, hips, ribs and spine.

We are truly devastated by these life changing events. Kathy is now on comfort care and fighting for as much time as she can to be with her loved ones.
Currently, her husband, son and family travel 1-2 hours each day to the hospital to make sure that Kathy is never alone. The rising costs of treatment, travel, not working and being away from home in Roy are taking a toll after 2 months. Raul and Mandel have been unable to work due taking care of Kathy full-time. As Kathy fights she will continue to require medical treatment in the hospital.
We are asking you to help Kathy fight the battle of her life by donating. The funding from your contributions will go directly towards assisting the family with basic living expenses, groceries, transportation, uninsured medical expenses, medical co-pays, and any other needs directly related to her care.
As a family we are asking you to pull together with us to help support her through this next chapter and unknown journey ahead. We ask that if you can give, please do. There is no such thing as a small donation and every little bit is a blessing for her.
Please help Kathy have as much time as she can on this earth. God bless you for your generosity and prayers. Your support will go a long way to helping our family heal and take care of all expenses related to Kathy's illness.
