Kathy Christensen Fighting Tumor with Dignity

Hi, My name is Shar and I'm fund raising for my sister Kathy. In the summer of 2023, Kathy was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. The tumor caused speech issues and right-side weakness. She endured Radiation in the fall and is currently taking chemo therapy treatments. Radiation on the brain is immensely taxing and can cause more effects on the brain. Her right-side weakness has increased and the word issues are stable but still present. This has made hand writing, texting, and typing nearly impossible.

Kathy is vastly independent. She has spent her adult life working hard and being careful and responsible with her money. Her last place of employment described her as dependable, always on time with a smile on her face, a joy to work with. Kathy tried valiantly to keep working. Even her doctors were impressed with her tenacity and determination to stay employed. Unfortunately, in December, after a hospitalization due to weakness, she had to make the painful decision to give up the job that she loved at Dakotabilities.

Medical expenses and living expenses with no income have become overwhelming for Kathy. We cannot know how much the brain will heal, we certainly pray and believe God will heal her. However, her future is uncertain. She is impressively trying to handle all this alone but I’m putting this opportunity out there for friends and family to help out.

I wish I could list you all by name but I would come painfully short so please know that we vastly appreciate all the support we’ve gotten and will get.
