Kathy Bird's breast cancer radiation treatment
Donation protected
I had my second breast cancer surgery in seven years in January. I had a lumpectomy and need radiation treatment in the hopes of not having a third occurrence of breast cancer. The first was lobular in the left breast and the latest was ductal in the right breast. I am on Social Security Disability because of serious back and neck problems and as a result, have Medicare coverage. It only pays 80% of medical bills. I need to raise $5,000 in order to cover the 20 percent co-pay after treatment, which I have to drive Monday-Friday for a month to Morristown in order to get. My friends suggested I launch this GoFundMe campaign, which I did not want to do. However, my oncologist said radiation treatment will greatly prevent me from future cancer. I will have 100% coverage effective Jan. 1 after the Medicare supplemental coverage open enrollment this fall but I am unable to pay for this treatment now on my fixed income. Thank you to anyone willing to help me.
