My mom is a mentally disabled senior citizen who lost her home and everything she owned, escaping with her dog and cat only minutes before her apartment was consumed by flames in Paradise, CA. She lives on a very small fixed income from SSI and now only has her car to her name. My husband and I have been helping to support her since my father died last year, and now with our newborn son and our own potential loss of everything to the Camp Fire, we are reaching out to the community to help my mom recover from the ashes. The funds will be used for her immediate needs such as clothes, food, gas and rent, as she did not have any savings or renter’s insurance.
