KATHRYN SAJA JACOBS MEDICAL EXPENSE FUNDRAISER

Hi everyone, my name is Pamela Tynik and I am starting this Go Fund Me, along with my family, to help my niece, Kathryn Saja Jacobs, with her growing medical expenses.

Katie has been fighting for years with an unknown and misdiagnosed intestinal condition. Recently the inflammation worsened and despite years of medical investigation and dietary/lifestyle changes she was hospitalized. Her condition deteriorated very quickly as she was losing weight daily and had lost over 40 pounds in 27 days. She was admitted to an “In Network” hospital on October 1st and was discharged a week later with no improvement, but they believed the medicine that they had given her would work. Twelve hours after being discharged, she had no choice but to seek treatment at an “Out of Network” hospital. There she was admitted immediately and they began to aggressively determine the cause of her pain and deterioration. On October 26th in an emergent and lifesaving surgery the doctors performed a total colectomy (removal of her large intestine). Katie has been in the hospital and out of work since September 21st and still has a very long road ahead of her.

Due to having to move to an “Out of Network” hospital, Katie’s out of pocket cost is a minimum of $40,000.00 . She remains hospitalized and has a long road of testing, recovering and adjusting to her new lifestyle with the ultimate goal of a final surgery to repair her intestines. We are asking for help in supporting Katie to cover some of her medical expenses, so she and her family can focus on healing.

Our goal is $40,000 to help cover Kate’s deductibles for her multiple surgeries this year and next, intravenous nutrition since she has been unable to eat and further testing to determine the cause of her bowel issues. If you are able, please donate. Any little bit will help.
