End of Life Expenses for Kathy (Royer) Rees

January 11, 1961 – December 30, 2024

After Kathy spent eight months in the hospital dealing with a double lung transplant, that ultimately led to her passing on December 30, 2024, many have asked how they can help or assist our family in Kathy’s passing.

Not only are there end of life expenses, but at the beginning of December, we were notified that Medicaid cancelled her health coverage. Prior to being admitted to the hospital in April, she was unable to work for several months because of her breathing and mobility issues. What little money Kathy had in her name prior to her passing will be subject to a claim for medical and legal expenses. She also had no life insurance. The immediate family now faces the cost of settling her estate, memorial service, headstone, and other related expenses. In lieu of flowers or other memorial items, we are asking for your help in funding these expenses.

To clarify, we are raising funds to cover her funeral expenses, her headstone/marker, burial costs, and unexpected expenses that might arise. These fund are NOT to cover her medical expenses. What funds she has left in her checking account will take care of that but we cannot touch it until her will goes through probate. Any financial support would be extremely beneficial to our family. No donation is too small. Any funding that would exceed costs incurred will be donated to a cause that Kathy would appreciate or to plant trees in her memory.
