Kathleen's Kidney Crisis

Kathleen Elias is a kind 37-year-old mom to 18-month old Madelyn, loving wife, sister, avid runner, amazing ICU nurse, and soon-to-be Acute Care Nurse Practitioner  who was THE picture of perfect health up until last Tuesday, October 1st when she was underwent a standard fertility procedure and a medical error was made that put her into acute renal (kidney) failure almost immediately.  She has been in the hospital since last week and has undergone many tests and was started on dialysis.  She currently has zero kidney function and has been needing dialysis every day because she gets too ill when they skip a day. We are hoping she will be able to go home soon and have dialysis done on an outpatient basis until her kidneys regain function (in an estimated 6-8 weeks) but as you can imagine, the medical bills are piling up and she is unable to work during this time. All donations will go to her medical expenses. Any amount can help her and her family get through this difficult time while she focuses on healing.  If there is any money leftover, it will be donated to a charitable cause of Kathleen’s choice and we will let you know where that is.  Thank you for your time and consideration.
