Kathleen Misko House Fund

If you know Kathleen, you've probably been taken care of by Kathleen, one way or another. What you may not know is how truly hard the past couple of years has been on her.

After a lengthy and expensive illness, Kathleen's husband and partner in crime Ernie passed away last September. She had cared for him at home until the end, incurring debilitating expenses, and has had to navigate mounting debt and the lack of his pension through her grief. 

Her primary respite has been her beautiful home, which she and Ernie built into a true sanctuary. If you have been stranded alone in LA over a holiday, you may have ended up there, greeted with the warmest of hugs as you admired the thoughtful, handcrafted decorations.

Unfortunately, her home is now at risk: the expansive porch with the stunning views has been consumed by termites which also lead to extensive leaks, including a burst pipe that has flooded her bedroom. 

Not a lot of grandmothers still need to work as much as Kathleen, but as much as her coworkers love her and how hard she's pushing herself she can no longer cover it all and is at risk of losing her home. 

Truly any amount will help Kathleen through this difficult time, and she is prioritizing fixing the deck and the pipe, though any additional funds will go towards a memorial for Ernie.
