My name is Katherine. I am 70 years old and I have just been diagnosed with breast cancer and also I am dealing with heart issues. I live by myself. I barely make it on Social Security. I’ve had to let several debts lapse and are in collections now because I can’t afford to pay on them.

I’m trying to get help with food. Some days I don’t eat to save what little bit of money I have for gas to go to my doctor appointments. Some of them are at least 45 minutes to an hour away. I’m not asking much. I’m just asking for a few dollars here and there to help with gas and some of my medical expenses.
