Those who know Katherine Byrnes understand that she has two very different sides to her personality: reserved, caring, generous, sweet, incredibly knowledgeable physical therapist and loud, hilarious Brooklyn girl who is full of energy and surprises. That's why so many people love her.

Recently, Katherine, who is 36, received the shock of her life when she was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma, a rare bile duct cancer. Of course, all of our worlds were immediately turned upside down.

Katherine is currently undergoing chemotheraphy to shrink the tumors in her liver and is close to scheduling a date for her surgery.

The $100,000 we are looking to raise would go toward any out of pocket expenses for her surgery and treatment, both in the coming months and down the line should she need additional surgery and treatment. It will also cover future costs not covered by insurance, including medications that are in clinical trial or transfer of care to out of network providers.
