Katherine's Fight Against Breast Cancer

Hello, my name is Ashley, and I am raising funds for my sister and her family to help ease the financial burden of her cancer treatments.

Katherine is my youngest sister at just 30 years old, and she was recently diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma that has metastasized to her lymph nodes. She will have to undergo multiple aggressive treatments and surgeries, including radiation, chemotherapy and hormone therapy in hopes of beating the disease.

Katherine and her husband, Eric, have worked hard to build an incredible life and family, and it saddens me to see this diagnosis threaten all that they have. They are the perfect match - they even got married in matching onesie pajamas! Their five (yes, 5!) children are a testament to their sense of humour, compassion, and love for life. They are animal lovers and have the "zoo" of pets to prove it!

Both Katherine and Eric have also built successful and fulfilling careers. Katherine is an amazing, accredited photographer and owns her own photography business in Oromocto, NB, and Eric proudly serves in the Canadian Armed Forces. There’s never a dull moment in their lives, but they thrive in the chaos and enjoy every second together, along with time spent with their loving family and friends in New Brunswick and Ontario.

The news of Katherine’s diagnosis will significantly impact her family’s income, as she will have to step away from her photography business to attend medical appointments and recover from various treatments and surgeries. Her husband will also have to take time away from work to drive her to and from these appointments. I’d love to support their family by raising funds to assist with transportation costs, overnight accommodations, childcare costs, and any additional medical expenses that aren't covered by their healthcare benefits.

 

My sister and her hubby have worked hard to get where they are, to have a happy and large family and successful careers. They have an incredible challenge ahead of them.
