Katherine's Ankle Surgery and Recovery

UPDATE 02/03/25:

A big, big thank you from Katherine and her support crew for everyone's donations so far, and for all the love and comfort the community has shown her in other ways!

Good news: Katherine's healing is going well! It will still be a while before she'll be able to lose the crutches, and a longer while before she'll be able to get back on her bike and get around independently, but the docs are pleased with how the ankle is healing so far and she's been slowly getting back into the swing of her usual activities!

More good news: official financial aid is covering a large portion of the $60k+ bills we'd been waiting on, so it's just this original $7,000 we need to make up! Still a big number for one person to take on alone, even with the extra work she's squeezing in, but something manageable for the community - let's do it!

WHAT'S UP? 01/16/25

You may know Katherine in her role as a teacher at the Forest School, a cafe-hopping editor, a gym regular, or "that one cool gal who bikes everywhere." If you know her well, you've seen how she's always working hard and spreading kindness to our planet, to the island's children, to her friends, and to her greater community.

It's time to return some of her helpfulness!

A badly fractured ankle has temporarily hindered her ability to work, taken away her ability to bike, and left her with a big pile of medical bills. She is grateful to have had a successful surgery, but her road to a full recovery is still long, and she needs some financial help along the way.

Funds raised will be used to pay Katherine's medical costs. The fundraiser may be updated as more bills come in.
