Hello! My name is Alicia and I am a friend of Katherines.

Katherine is like a sister to me. She is a community support worker here in the Comox Valley for people with diverse abilities. In her spare time you can find her training her beloved dog Ruby in Fly Ball, caring for her many loved pets, or joining family festivities with my family.

Kat was previously diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer ten years ago and won that fight after a grueling regime of medications and chemo. Unfortunately she has recently been diagnosed again this time with the protein HER2 being positive and not negative. Still an aggressive cancer to fight but with your help, we can make this happen!

There is one medication that is still going to cost around $12,000 total even after coverage. Perjeta ( also known as Pertuzumab) is a monoclonal antibody that is used to treat HER2 positive breast cancers. It is costly with the first initial dose costing $3800, and every initial dose after costing $1700. Katherines doctors are highly recommending this as a life saving medication.
