"The trouble is you always think you have more time"
(Buddhist quote attributed to Jack Kornfield)
After raising two beautiful daughters and spending exorbitant amounts on Kate's health issues Bobby and Kate thought they had more time to save for what their future held - now tragically and unfortunately because of Bobby's passing it will not be anything like they planned and dreamed for it to be. They lived simply and for the most part solely on Bobby's income as a small business owner. Soon Kate will have to leave the (rented) house she has called home for the last 25+ years but now being on a small disability income her options are extremely limited. Her family has come up with enough money which could help her rent another place for possibly 4 years if we are lucky but our hearts cannot justify what happens after that. So, we decided the best option would be to put that money down to purchase a small 1 bed/1 bath condo in the retirement village of Laguna Woods. It will be even a simpler life, but one we hope she could learn to enjoy as she adjusts to her new normal without the love of her life. The deed would be set up in Jordan and Kylie's names - the money will not go to waste - it will benefit their beautiful girls in the end. The condo comes with a high monthly association fee (that covers a lot of amenities that Kate may find herself requiring in the near future - things like support groups, transportation to the grocery store, the nearby hospital and medical buildings for appointments, etc). As it stands right now, we cannot put enough money down on the condo for her to afford both the remaining mortgage and the monthly association dues. If there is any amount you can help with getting the mortgage down, the Boro/Granath families would be forever grateful and hopefully Bobby can rest in heaven easier knowing his three beloved girls have been taken care of to the best of our combined efforts and abilities. Thank you and please hug those you love, let them know they are loved as often as possible - tomorrow is not promised.
Rest in Peace Bobby Granath, you were and will always be so loved by so many. Robert Gary Granath 6.6.1955 - 10.18.2021
Rest in Peace Jorge (the dog pictured) who followed within days after his beloved Dad, you were so loved as well.
If you both had to go, at least we can take some solace in the fact that you are together again. Hope heaven is as lovely as they say.
