Hello, My name is Katherine, for the past thirteen years I've held a steady career in the correctional field, however onm 9/28/25, I fell ill and had to have surgery to remove a large kidney stone that I could not pass, ,and have been out of work since then. On 10/14/25, I learned that not only have I gone LWOP due to not having enough PTO to cover the medical leave, I will not get paid my full salary and instead of getting paid on the first, I will get paid on the fifteenth, in addition, I may not have a job anymore.

This gofund me is to help give me a buffer while trying to find a job, I live by myself with two cats, Ninja and Dizzy. I also have medical needs that have come up due to the surgery in the form of antibiotics.

The breakdown is this:

Rent: 950~ a month

Car note: $550

Internet: $75

Medicine: $50

Car + Renters insurance $200

Cat food + litter: $65

This is without my own groceries. I am terrified of being homeless in this economy and in Texas. Please help.
