We are looking for a little help to secure the site for Kate's Place - Assisted Living and Memory care.
Kate is the wonderful woman and friend that I have had the extreme pleasure of caring for for almost three years. She has taught me so much and I am blessed to get to spend time wth this AMAZING woman.
It is through my time with Kate that I have discovered God's plan for me. I am a caregiver by nature and I cannot think of a better way to spend my time on this earth than taking care of the people that have built, molded and worked to make this country great.
One of the reasons I became a personal caregiver is because of my time working in the Assisted Living "industry." In my experience, and much to my horror, many of the larger facilities view the caring of people as an "industry" and not as the loving, caring, nurturing gift that caring for people truly is.
In order to escape that world I became a personal caregiver, working in the homes of the people that need it. Now I would like to open up my home to care for those that need a little extra love.
Kate's place would be my full time residence where I, along with my husband, Tim would live along with 4-6 residents who would truly become part of our family. Our full time commitment to caring and small size would assure that many of the issues associated with the "industry" of caring would not occur.
Staff would be selected based on their caring and commitment and never because we "needed a body" to meet state staffing ratios. The amount of personal interaction and one on one time would be greatly increased. Finally, and most importantly, our family would grow by the number of residents we are able to serve and we could continue to learn from and laugh with members of the greatest generation.
