Kate's Second Chance: Restore Her Smile
Donation protected
We're reaching out to you with humble hearts to ask for help for someone incredibly special, our sister, Kate.
Kate has been sober for over a year now, and in that time, she has worked tirelessly to rebuild her life from the ground up. After over a decade of addiction, she’s fought to become a new person, one full of hope, compassion, and resilience. She’s found strength not only in staying sober, but in helping others along the way. Today, she’s a mentor and an inspiration to many women beginning their own recovery journeys.
But despite all her progress, there’s still one major thing holding her back: her smile.
Years of addiction took a toll on Kate’s teeth, and now she’s left with only a few remaining, many of which are broken or decayed. She lives every day in pain, and worse, with a deep sense of shame. The truth is, when she walks into job interviews, people often don’t see the strong, sober, determined woman she’s become. They see someone who’s still struggling. And that judgment has made it incredibly hard for her to find employment and take the next step in her healing.
The emotional impact of not being able to smile, speak, or laugh freely is something many of us take for granted. But for Kate, it’s been a constant reminder of her past. She deserves to move forward without that weight.
We’ve found a compassionate dental office, Aesthetic Smiles in Queen Creek, that has graciously offered to help Kate for just their cost. Rather than pulling all her teeth and giving her dentures (which would lead to bone loss and permanent facial changes), they will perform the restorative dental work she needs to preserve her facial structure, her health, and most importantly, her dignity.
The full cost of treatment is $16,000, but our first goal is to raise $7,000 to begin work on her top teeth. This will allow her to smile again, go to job interviews with confidence, and finally feel like herself again.
Every dollar donated will go directly toward Kate’s dental care. Once we meet the first goal and begin treatment on her top teeth, we’ll continue working toward the next phase, restoring her bottom teeth and completing her smile.
This journey won’t be easy. She has a long road ahead filled with oral surgeries and recovery, but she’s already proven she’s willing to do the hard work. What she needs now is support from friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers willing to believe in someone who’s fighting for a second chance.
Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for helping us give Kate something we all deserve the ability to smile again.
