Hello friends, let me introduce myself. I am Kate Cotto's mother. I have been her caretaker for three years as she was infected with chronic Lyme Borreliosis (Borrelia burgdorferi) and numerous co-infections. She has been seeing a Lyme-literate doctor in our area. She moved off Cape to be with me for treatment in Hopkinton. Kate is receiving heavy antibiotic treatment for her illness. They are very expensive and seem to be treating a lot of the symptoms; however, during her last doctor visit, we were encouraged to seek alternative therapies and treatment known to help with late-stage Lyme disease.
The clinics recommended were $20-$30,000 in Germany and New Mexico. After researching myself, I have found a clinic in Tennessee that will include a two-week stay for Kate and myself as her advocate. The treatment plan is $12,000. We are also trying to fund the necessary airfare and hotel accommodations. I had confirmation from a friend on the Cape who did go to Germany for treatment. He said it was life-altering and he was able to go back to work. We are seeking Kate's recovery and return to her life as it was before this illness! Kate enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with family. Sincerely, Katherine Bowman.
