Kate’s Fight: Hope, Healing & Help for a Brave Soul
Donation protected
In April of last year, my little sister Kate was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. Just three weeks later, she underwent a grueling 10-hour surgery to remove as much of the cancer as possible. During her recovery, she developed sepsis, requiring emergency surgery—and for five terrifying days, Kate was in a medically induced coma in the ICU. We came heartbreakingly close to losing her.
After nearly a month in the hospital, Kate began six rounds of chemotherapy. For a brief moment, it looked like the treatment had worked—scans showed no signs of cancer. But in April of this year, during a third surgery, we learned the devastating truth: Kate’s cancer is chemotherapy-resistant and has spread throughout her abdominal cavity. Outside of clinical trials, there are no remaining treatment options.
Kate is the sole owner and operator of Hideaway, a small day spa she lovingly built in Hamden, CT. Throughout this brutal year, she continued to work when she could—showing up for her loyal clients, even when she was in pain. But now, with her condition worsening and her pain constant, Kate has been working very sporadically, if at all.
This GoFundMe is to help Kate live the rest of her life with comfort, dignity, and the peace of mind she so deeply deserves. Your donation will go toward covering her living expenses, medical care, and giving her the freedom to focus on what matters most—spending time with loved ones and making memories while she still can.
If you know Kate, you know how much light she brings into the world. She’s always been the first to show up, to give, to care. Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.
Please give what you can. Every donation—no matter the size—will make a meaningful difference. And if you can’t give, please consider sharing this campaign with others.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, support, and generosity.
With love, gratitude, and so much sorrow,
