Hi, I’m Kate, founder of Run Her Way, and this June, I’ll be running the 250 km Liberation Trail, a six-day journey across France, Belgium and the Netherlands to commemorate the liberation of Europe. I’m taking on this challenge to raise funds and inform action on something we should all be able to take for granted: the freedom to run safely and confidently whenever, wherever, and however we choose.
Running safely should be so normal and universal that we don’t even have to think about it. But right now, that’s not the case for many women and girls.
Run Her Way is a non-profit working in cities and communities to change that — closing the gap between awareness and action. Our work combines community insight, data, public advocacy, and allyship to make everyday running environments safer and more inclusive for everyone, but especially for women and girls. We have active projects in three cities, with more on the way.
Your support goes directly to this work, helping us grow, reach new communities, and engage more runners and stakeholders. We're working to make running safety a shared responsibility and a right for all.
I’ll be sharing regular updates on my training journey and the story behind the kilometers - the reality of what it’s like to run through different environments as a woman. I’ll be reflecting on safety, access, and what still needs to change, using this challenge as a way to stay connected to the everyday experiences behind our advocacy.
Thank you so much for your support.
