Hi, my name is Kate Scott and I'm a senior at Principia High School. I'll be traveling to South Africa this Spring Break (March 8-26) with the Simunye Project US
(http://simunyeprojectus.org/) and I need your support! Not only am I raising money for my trip but each of us needs to raise at least $900 to donate to the project.
While we are there we will be focusing on three (3) major areas: education, health and building works. In years past the money and time has been spent on:
cleaning classrooms
improving storage facilities
installing shelving
fixing countless desks
delivery of school furniture
lunch and snacks for over 200 hundred children each day
a year’s salary for kindergarten teacher at Tshepang
sponsorship of 8 Year 12 students (school fees, uniforms, books)
donation of money to careers at Tshepang
sewing group to make uniforms and toiletry bags for the kindergarten
220 food hampers
shade cloth was erected next to the kindergarten
playgrounds
outdoor kitchen
construction of chicken coop
hundreds of books in local languages for libraries
thousands of clothing items and shoes for children
women’s personal hygiene packs
care packs
meters of fencing
$1000’s of dollars-worth of baby supplies and food
painted, renovated and stocked day care classrooms
Simunye means "we are one" and I cannot wait to go and make a difference with your help, and the help of my teachers and classmates. Thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of others!
Our Mission: To inspire young people to be positive forces for change.
