Katelyn Milligan is a 15 year old freshman that has been diagnosed with metastatic thyroid cancer.  Katelyn will need to have a very extensive surgery to remove her thyroid, as well as the lymph nodes that the cancer has spread to.  Because of the location of one of the lymph nodes, Katelyn's surgery will be very long and difficult.  Her surgery is just the beginning of a long journey ahead.
     Katelyn is the sweetest 15 year old that you would ever want to meet.  She gets it from her mother.  Katelyn's mother Florie, is the nicest person I have ever met.  Florie's daughter Kearstin (Katelyn's sister) passed away when she was 6.  Katelyn was 4 at the time.  Kearstin was born with multiple birth defects and was on a ventilator for her entire life.  Even through the heartbreak of losing a child, Florie has always maintained her heart of gold.  Florie and Katelyn always go out of their way to help others in need.
     Unfortunately, Katelyn's parent's relationship did not survive the loss of a child.  Florie is now a self-employed single mother. Florie has a cleaning business, and has missed a huge amount of work because of Katelyn's illness.  She has been sick for quite a while.  There were countless doctor visits and tests before they figured out what was going on.  Obviously, there will be a lot more missed work when Katelyn has her surgery.
     This precious family is now in a financial crisis.  The loss of income is causing financial hardship, and the medical bills are starting to pile up.  They need our help!  Every little bit helps.  Even if you can't donate, please help by sharing.
