Katelyn Parro’s Family Fundraiser

It is with great sorrow that I announce that our beloved sweet Katelyn has lost her battle. On January 27, 2020 at 10:00 am, she was surrounded by loved ones when the final moment came. While we grieve her loss, we know that she is finally at peace and out of pain. She is beside our Heavenly Father watching over her husband and 3 beautiful children.

Now we ask for your help for the lovely family she has left behind. They need many prayers and financial help. Your donations will help with the cost of a funeral, large medical bills, counseling for the children, nanny costs so Devin can go back to work, and so many other expenses. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your kindness in advance!!!

**************************************************************************************************************************************************
Katelyn Lee Parro, a 26-year-old mother of 3 beautiful children, ages 5, 2 and 1. She is a caring wife, daughter, niece and devoted mother. She is in dire need of a liver transplant patient.

Katie was born with a liver disease called Biliary Atresia. At the age of 14 she was given a liver transplant. She has battled with her liver due to high bilirubin counts and blockages for many years Unfortunately, in 2019 Katelyn has had numerous blockages to the liver. But she accidentally got pregnant and the pregnancy caused her bilirubin numbers raise quite high and has damaged her liver more. Katie was admitted to the hospitalized again in the beginning of November for a blockage to the liver and high bilirubin counts. She has been in the hospital since, with one bad turn after another.

Due to many complications, she lost sweet Kora May Parro on Dec. 4th. Shortly after losing Kora, Katie took a turn for the worse. She has been fighting for her life since. She is still fighting Sepsis, and pneumonia, she is in dire need of a live transplant and a surgery to rebuild her intestines. It is our understanding that the transplant needed is for a full liver, doctors do not believe Katie in not a candidate for a partial liver. They claim that hers is too deteriorated and will fall apart if she has a partial.
SHE IS CURRENTLY ON LIFE SUPPORT!!!!!!!!!

The family was hoping Katie will be put on the transplant list this week. But due to many issues with health insurance, the hospital will not put her on the list until February 1st. We have been fighting some governmental and bureaucratic red tape, between Covered California, Medi-Cal, Kaiser, and UCLA , meanwhile she is languishing while waiting for it to get all sorted out. The doctors will not proceed with putting her on the transplant list which is a lifesaving procedure all because of incorrect medical coding and coverage issues.

She has a long way to go, but we believe she is still fighting. She still needs lots of prayers.

We Katie’s family are asking for help for this precious family. This little family is going to be hit hard with financial debit to Katelyn illness. Devin, Katelyn's husband owns his own business, but has not been able to work much, since he has been at the hospital most of the time supporting Katie, caring for the children, fighting with the insurance and the hospital. Therefore, he is not earning the money for household bills, school tuition for their oldest child, childcare for all three while he is at work or the hospital, and Katelyn's medical bills.

As we all know healthcare is very expensive and they all have out of pocket costs. They are going to need our help for these medical bills, household bills and the funeral for Kora,

We ask people to pray for Katie, her 3 children, husband and family. Secondly, I know people want to help. I believe we can help relieve at least some of the burden by helping financially. Let’s come together rally around the Parro family so Devin doesn’t have to worry as much, and he can both focus on their family during this crisis.

Thank you for whatever help you can give. It’s always humbling to ask for help, but I know that God will be glorified in this. The Parro and Lee Families
