Hi everyone,

We are raising money towards a headstone for our best friend's daughter Katelyn.

Katelyn was born on 15th March 2009. Ultrasounds had shown some problems with growth. Instinctively her mum Lindsey, knew something more was wrong. Lee, her dad agreed. The doctors differed their opinions, until Lindsey was proven right. Katelyn had many illnesses, 'Mitochondrial disease' being the main illness. Although she had only been fully diagnosed within the past year. Alot of arguments between different doctors, held up her diagnosis.

Lee & Lindsey decided differently, they would give her so much love, she'd never want to leave. They said she was deaf and blind. Although her favourite words were "love love love". She had her own words for each member of the family, just pronounced her own way. The family all adapted together, she was part of every family event, centre stage as the Princess she was. Older sister's made her part of everyday life. She would have her nails done and always had some lipgloss on. I watched as they saved to give her holidays, as this was her favourite thing. She was a water baby and loved being in the warm weather.

Over the years Katelyn spent alot of time in hospitals. Respiratory failure, infections the list goes on. Each time her parents went through the end of life plan with the different doctors. Each time, Katelyn fought back. She astounded the medical teams around her and each time, went home!

Sadly we lost Katelyn on 17th January 2026, she had fought for 16 years. She died at home with the family around her. She had decided it was time to leave.

They gave her the most beautiful send off with all of the strength they had. We know they would love to have a unique headstone for her grave.

So we have come to you, the public, to ask for help! We ask that you only donate what you can. We would also like to thank you in advance from us and Katelyn's family circle.

Our little Princess grew into a beautiful Queen . She was such an inspiration to the community and friends around her.

God chose her family for her. He knew this family would understand the devotion, love, care and affection that was needed to give her life!
