My path to reach Autism's voice
Donation protected
Hello friends!
My name is Kate Hale, I'm a Natural Play Therapy Coach and Playbassador with Autistically Inclined. I help people on the Autism spectrum of all ages and their families experience the outdoors, cultivate balanced relationships, become more purposeful through age-appropriate play, and communicate on a letterboard.
My ultimate dream is to live in a world where people within the Autism community have the opportunity to find their purpose and pursue their passions. My mission is to support them in finding a way to truly express themselves and experience the freedom of being heard.
I now have the opportunity to learn more about how to help my friends on the Autism spectrum in a bigger way and create a supportive community with them. The Accessing Community Through Spelling (ACTS) Professional Development Program is a six-month course that I am committed to taking, which will help me gain more knowledge and skills to fulfill this mission. Your donation will get me that much closer to fulfilling my commitment by covering the cost of the course and associated travel expenses.
I am seeking to inspire people to support me, as well as the movement and dream that I am working towards. By supporting me in being a part of this professional development program, you will make a huge difference in helping people within the Autism community be heard, sometimes for the first time in their lives.
Every share and donation is greatly appreciated, and each of you have my endless gratitude.
WHO INSPIRED ME

My story began with a guy named Ian who has Autism. We first met at Planet Rock Climbing Gym , where he was climbing with his mom. Soon after meeting his family, I began working with him and learning Natural Play Therapy. This was like no job I had ever experienced. I wasn't his aid. I wasn't his therapist. I wasn't his nanny. I was his friend, a true friend relating in a balanced, 50/50 way. Like in all great relationships, we have learned from one another and have experienced the ebbs and flows of life together.
For a long while, I thought I knew Ian really well. However, once his mom and I started to learn letterboarding together, we began to see glimpses of Ian's inner voice for the first time. It didn't surprise me that there was greater depth to Ian that I hadn't seen before, though I was surprised that there were resources out there that could help him connect to his true voice. To this day, Ian continues to impress and inspire me on a daily basis with his growing confidence and his endless persistence to communicate with the world.
The more families I meet, the more I am seeing that Ian is not the only one. There are thousands of kids with Autism in this world that are waiting for somebody to help them connect to their true voice. I want to play a big part in that.
By making a donation or simply sharing this page, you can play a big part by supporting me in a way that feels true to you.
Love and gratitude,
Kate Hale
