Kate & Children's Fortress Africa
Donation protected

In the Nairobian slums of Kibera, many children find themselves on the streets for a variety of reasons including family dysfunction, poverty and crime. Those that are left on the streets are without hope of education to better their situation and resort to cleaning businesses and vehicles, scavenging goods to sell, hawking, begging and prostitution to pay for food and clothing. Sadly some are also addicted to glue sniffing and other substance abuse. School is not provided by the government and without national identification many civilians are 'invisible' and have very little chance of obtaining an education or employment.
Educator Kate Laverack within Children's Fortress Africa with your generous donations will be engaging in the following projects whilst in Nairobi:
-Reuniting street children with their families and providing economic support.
-Providing children and adults with means to obtain a national ID card (to further their chances of going to school and/or employment)
-Processing referrals for primary and secondary school scholarships
-Providing social and academic mentorship for boys at Rehabilitation centres.
-Youth social development workshops
-Youth social and emotional wellbeing activities; drama and acro yoga workshops
Kate is flying to Nairobi in early October 2016. You can keep updated on where these funds are being used and what projects they support on the 'Children's Fortress Africa' website http://www.childrensfortressafrica.org/

Kate and Children's Fortress Africa are extremely grateful for your contribution to a much needed cause. Your help will mean that the lives of children will be changed for the better, and a real chance of education given.
