Donation protected
Hi my name is Hollie, and Catherine (Kate) Harris is my Mom. I am trying to get the word out so maybe she can receive a donor transplant kidney from someone she knows (or doesn’t know!)
Kate is a loving Mother, Step-Mother and Grandmother. She has a non curable disease called FSGS and it can only be managed by a kidney transplant or dialysis. Kate received a living donor transplant from her sister Eileen in 2009 and has thrived with that kidney until the last year where her health and well-being has been going downhill. She loves to be with her family and friends and would enjoy just living her day to day life without having to feel run down by just completing normal daily tasks.
As you may or may not know, transplant patients have a long list of extremely expensive medications that they have to take the rest of their life, along with appointments and routine blood draws and infusions along with a 3x weekly dialysis schedule that takes up 12+ hours of her week. If you or anyone you know is interested in being a living donor please let us know. We know this is a long shot but her doctor told us that one of his other patients found a donor this way, and if anyone
knows my Mother is my best friend so I will do ANYTHING to help her find a kidney! Please share this to get the word out.
Ohio State Wexner Medical center in Columbus and University Hospital in Cleveland have her information on file and you can also fill out living donor paperwork on their websites.
