Kate Horowitz Community Gathering Fund

On Sunday, September 12th, 2021 Kate Horowitz passed away unexpectedly. In the words of her 12 year partner Ben, "Kate was so many things to so many people. She was the daughter of amazing musicians, mother of a beautiful bouncy boy, godmother to a little girl, aunt to her niece and nephews, sister to Jill and friend to all of us. She was a leader and a visionary, and the legacy she leaves behind changed so many lives. She is deeply missed, and will be missed for many years to come. Her memory will live through our hearts and our stories."

 

 

We remember that her life was one of creating space for immeasurable joy. A woman who's smile was a laser beam through your bad day. A woman who loved silly nerdy things, and laughing uproariously with the people she held closest till the sunrise. A woman who loved good whiskey, good charcuterie plates, and the conversations that happened around them with brilliant unique souls.

 

This fundraiser is to support a community gathering for all those who's lives were impacted by this beautiful hub in our community. In a space that was so special to many of our relationships with her, the East Bay Community Space. Any funds not used for this gathering will be donated to the East Bay Community Space, the space where Kate built our chosen family.
