Just before Christmas Kate was admitted to the hospital with appendicitis. Because of various complications stemming from other medical conditions they were unable to operate immediately and she spent 21 days in the hospital with an inflamed appendix before being released with IV antibiotics and re admitted for surgery two weeks later. Her recovery has been slow, painful, and complicated. She has been out of work for six weeks and she has exhausted all of her vacation and sick leave and her company does not offer any kind of short term disability leaving her with no source of income. While she was in the hospital her parked car was hit and badly damaged twice by unidentified drivers and she is is responsible for paying $1000 in insurance deductibles. By starting this gofundme we are hoping to help defray some of her living expenses (rent, car payment, insurance, food etc) as well as her unexpected auto expenses. We have set the goal to cover all of her lost income as well as the auto expenses but any amount of money will help.
