Hi, my name is Kate and I'm fundraising because on Thursday, August 24th my family lost our apartment of 10 years to a fire. Insanely - it was the second fire in the building that week, the first fire taking place less than 24 hours previously. As a full time artist with New York City expenses, I relied on the rent stability of this building to afford my studio so I can continue making art. Our building, which was once filled with light and love, has been vacated by the City with no indication of when we can return. For now we're doing what we can to get by with the help of dear friends, but we need to find another stable living situation on an incredibly short notice. My family and I would greatly appreciate anything you can do to help make this hard transition a little easier. Even sending positive vibes our way will make a difference.
