KATE CALABRETTA GO FUND ME
Many of you know what a wonderful teacher Kate Calabretta is at The Cushman School; she is warm, caring, a great example for our children and a very knowledgeable professional. What many of you do not know and could never tell by her joyful disposition is that she is battling advanced breast cancer. Her cancer was diagnosed in 2014, was under control for some time, and returned in 2018, having metastasize to elsewhere in her body.
As you can imagine, even with good medical insurance, the cost of this disease has depleted Kate and her husband Ari’s savings. The combination of deductibles, co-pays and non-covered medical expenses has totaled tens of thousands of dollars. We hope Kate will continue to fight this disease for many years without the extra burden of the financial aspect that cancer brings.
Contributions to this Go Fund Me campaign are a way to show our appreciation for the wonderful things she has already done for our children; to help make it possible for her to continue to do so for, hopefully, many years to come; and to allow her to have some measure of financial breathing room as she continues her battle. Kate did not ask us to establish this campaign and was reluctant to accept the help when we offered, but we want to help her and thought, if we let others know about Kate’s circumstances, many of you would want to join us.
