Kate and Lyndons motorcycle accident recovery fund
Donation protected
Hello people!
On December 9th 2023 our caring, funny, and amazing friends Kate and Lyndon were involved in a hit and run while riding their motorcycle in New York City. Kate was very very lucky and walked away with cuts and bruises while Lyndon and the motorcycle were not so lucky; suffering a broken leg, pelvis, and right hand. Lyndon had a successful surgery Monday night and is being released to mend at home. Kate is doing some additional imaging for continuing back and shoulder pain. The bike is a total loss.
While the immediate emergency is over, the recovery and rehab is just beginning. Not to mention the legal/ insurance battle ahead, especially if the driver of the hit and run vehicle is found (New York: keep your eyes peeled for a white sprinter van in Red Hook with a Harley sized dent on the passenger rear!).
By NY law motorcycle riders and passengers do not receive personal injury $ from car/motorcycle insurance policies (call your rep about that one!), and Lyndon used all his PTO on the hospital stay and is now on unpaid leave from work. A follow up appointment with a hand specialist after Christmas will answer the question of how long he will be out of work.
Kate and Lyndon are so grateful for their friends and family who have shown up in big and small ways. It means so much to them that they’re surrounded by such excellent people who love them. Rest assured the feeling is mutual.
Let’s help Kate and Lyndon be able to focus on their physical recovery and alleviate the financial burden that comes with these traumatic events. Every little bit counts. Money can't buy happiness but it can buy pizza!
Please feel free to share this with any friends/ family.
