In Memory of Kat Smith: Support for the Three Daughters of a Devoted and Hardworking Mum

We’re raising funds to support the three daughters of an incredible woman — a single mum who was dedicated, capable, and full of life. Kat raised her girls with love, resilience, and a strong sense of community, and she made a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Kat had a sharp sense of humour and brought her practical, no-nonsense approach to everything she did — whether she was standing on the sidelines and helping at athletics, gymnastics, life saving, soccer, or competing proudly with her own ice skating team. She wasn’t just there for her own girls — she supported their friends too, always showing up, always encouraging.

Her care extended far beyond people. She had a deep love for animals, and her home was often a safe haven for those with nowhere else to go. She ran a quiet but dedicated cat and ferret rescue, taking in the animals few others would. She worked hard to give them safety, dignity, and a second chance.

She gave her time, her energy, and her home to those in need — people and animals alike. And now, it’s time for the community she gave so much to, to give something back.

Her girls: Chelsea, Nikita and Sammi, are now facing life without their mum — their constant, their support, and their guide. This fundraiser is to help them find their footing after such a huge loss — with support for living costs, wellbeing, and the stability they need during this incredibly difficult time.

Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward helping them move forward with the same strength, integrity, and compassion their mum showed every day.
