For 4 years now, through her stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis, chemotherapy, mastectomy and now frontotemporal dementia diagnosis, I've acted as Kats sole caregiver. For years I worked pretty successfully as an artist (Warner Bros., Jeff Koons, Victory Fine Art, Gottfried Helnwein, John Canning, Co., etc.) but had to give up work when Kat was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her therapy left her immunocompromised so I was required to stay home with her. Shortly after finishing up her chemotherapy and me resuming a fulltime job, her behaviour began to change dramatically and she was soon diagnosed with dementia (most likely related to her cancer treatments). Once again I've had to give up all work to provide fulltime care. This has left us in a very precarious financial situation. The carers allowance I receive for working as her sole care provider is only €298 a week. Her disability allowance is a very meager €114 a week, Our combined U.S. social security payments amount to around €1100 a month. Our monthly bills (all basic necessities such as rent, food, petrol, utilities, etc) amount to around €3300 a month. We fall very short of being able to pay our bills our bills. right now my only option for resolving this financial crisis would be to put her in a home. I can't do this to her , she is still too aware; this would devastate her. We really need help in closing the gap in our income and our monthly overhead
