Just as they were about to celebrate their first wedding anniversary recently, Kassie and Patrick Reynolds learned that she had a rare form of cancer, a neuroendocrine tumor on her pancreas. This slow-growing cancer requires extensive surgery to remove, followed by up to 10 days in the hospital and numerous appointments and medicines.

The Reynolds are a hardworking couple. In addition to full-time jobs, Kassie runs a small side business that has begun to grow in the past several months. The two have been very disciplined with their money and were working to pay off debt when this came down.

Kassie has not been able to work since July. The surgery and long recovery will likely keep her off the job until mid January and the medical bills will be astronomical.
