Kasim Nabhan is in need of your help and prayers. Kasim, a bright senior at Rockledge High is an aspiring young athlete closely approaching his dream of playing college level and professional baseball.
The first week of September Kasim suffered the onset of a congenital life threatening condition while away from home at a college scouting tournament out of state. He was diagnosed with Paget-Schroetter Syndrome a form of Venous Thoracic Outlet Syndrome; after being transferred to Orlando Florida Hospital ICU. This condition is present in only about 4% of the general population.
His condition affects the main arteries feeding blood flow to the chest and arms. Due to obstruction, blood clots formed in his chest causing serious danger to his life. As of 9/16 he has been hospitalized 14 days with 10 of those days being in ICU. He has received angioplasty to free an eight inch blockage in his chest.
Kasim has been transferred to Celebration Florida hospital, where he is scheduled for a complex and complicated surgery to correct his condition. Although the surgery is of high risk, he will be in the care of the #1 Chief surgeon of this procedure in the country. For that we are so blessed.
Kasim turned 18 while in the hospital on Sept 8th. His insurance ends here. He will now be responsible for his own medical bills. Kasim will require artery surgery on both sides of the chest. Since surgery can only be done on one side at a time, the scheduled surgery will only temporally correct the condition. The artery on the other side will have to be done after a two month waiting period.
His parents Diana and Azmi Nabhan of Rockledge; have been by Kasim's side and not able to work since Kasim fell ill. The Nabhan’s are a close family of blue colar workers. Mom and two older siblings work in the family beauty salon and dad is in garage door repair. This family has donated services and reached out to the community to help others every time they possibly could. To stay close to their son, the family is presently sleeping in waiting room chairs. They are thankful for all friend and family donations. These donations have been helpful to purchase gas, food and tolls.
Can you please help by donating to this family today? God Bless you all, we are so thankful for your continued prayers.
