KARUK TRIBAL ELDER ARLENE HANSELL
Donation protected
Auntie Arlene, a Karuk Tribal Elder, has lost a son and her childhood home. Alan, her son, lived on the property.
The Slater fire swept through and wiped away a very special place, our Grandmother's life's work.
Fruit trees of many varieties as well as the most beautiful flower and vegetable gardens every year. The Madrone, Fir and Maple trees were magnificent.
Our whole family considers this paradise HOME. We will make it beautiful once again, but it will be a very difficult and a pricey endeavor. With the other houses lost to our family we are struggling to keep our spirits up.
Please share this to friends and family so we can try and lighten Arlene's sorrow and bring back our family's center.
