Karren Moore Final Expenses
Donation protected
My name is Zach, and I'm fundraising for the final expenses of my Mother, Karren Moore.
Karren was known to many as the store manager at Hirons in Eugene, to some as a direct mail worker at EDMS and the University of Oregon, or to others as simply a friend, but to me, she's my Mom.
It took a long time for me to accept her as that, considering her Mother got involved from time to time, but we were able to have a unique relationship that grew in my teenage and adult years.
She was my travel companion, my confidant about life, and someone who had big hopes and dreams about the opportunities I would have coming to me.
After decades of fighting diabetes, Karren fell victim to a 2022 heart attack, then at the end of 2023, a Kidney failure diagnosis. While dialysis was a life-saver, the toll it took on her mentally and physically was enough for her to decide, in clear conscience, to end treatment and enter hospice. After enrolling in hospice care on Wednesday 4/3, she rapidly declined, and by Sunday 4/7, she left us, undoubtedly wanting to follow the eclipse across the sky.
During her life, Karren desired to be buried, however, in the last 6 months or so, confided to me that she would accept being cremated, if only to help me with the financial burden of doing so. She did not have life insurance or savings, so it does seem to fall to me to take care of these final expenses.
The goal of $1,250 is designated based on a quote of $993 for Cremation services, plus $53 for a death announcement in the newspaper, and $200 for eight death certificates ($25 each).
If any additional funds are donated, they will be going to help her son Zach pay for bills, as Karren will obviously no longer be paying any rent.
Any and all donations, no matter the size, are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
We love you, Mom.
