The world lost a beautiful spirit, a daughter, sister, friend, niece, a loved one.
After a battle with cancer in the brain, spine and lungs, Karolina is now our angel and she is watching over us with her big smile and biggest heart. She is the reason the sun shines on us and the sky is blue and sometimes when a storm or rain comes, it is her too, showing us to appreciate the times the sky is blue and the sun is shining.
In what has been many seemingly endless dark stormy days, her family grieves greatly, not only is her mother, Ella, left without a daughter to hug everyday and care for everyday (Karolina was bed-ridden for the last few months of her life and was cared for by family, but especially by her mom, Ella, a former nurse). She will be without her daughter every Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving. She will be without her daughter every Sunday morning at church, every weekend hiking, every early morning tending to the garden... all the things they loved to do as a family will forever be changed and left with an eternal void.
To help the family recover from huge medical expenses and funeral costs, we have started the Karolina Our Angel Fund. No parent should have to bury their child. This fund is set up to help, at least, with the cost of the funeral and the medical expenses.
In a time where we all feel helpless and hopeless- we have to keep hoping for those days of sunshine and blue skies. There is nothing we want more than Karolina back as we struggle to understand and cope with this momentous loss. We love you, our angel, Karolina.
