In August 2016, Karole hadn’t been feeling her normal self and went to the doctor. Through a routine x-ray of her lungs, doctors discovered the first of several lumps in her lungs. After numerous tests, over several months, Karole was officially diagnosed in October 2016 with M1B stage III Lung Cancer. Doctors continued to require more tests until January 2017 to determine the best course of action. On Monday, January 23, 2017, Karole will officially begin a regimented daily treatment of both chemotherapy and radiation therapy. She will need to attend daily treatments for seven weeks for her treatment plan. Due to her current retirement age and her benefits covered under Medicare, her out-of-pocket co-pay will be $100 per daily treatment. In addition to her daily co-pays, there are many more medical bills that she will be responsible for paying, these include (every CAT scans, PET scans and additional prescriptions). We are raising money to ensure that Karole can obtain the best care possible
