Karma is 12 years old, she was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney failure on January 5th 2021.

she received her peritoneal dialysis port Jan 6th. she has been in children’s hospital of Detroit since. Right now she will do dialysis daily till she receives a kidney. Because Karma is young the doctors have said she will down the line need yet another kidney at some point. This makes her road a lifelong  journey! 

She has one kidney that has never really grown, and unfortunately the other stopped a while ago, meaning as she grew it started to fail. 5th stage means she has 15% or less function in her kidney so this kidney will eventually also fully fail. 

her body is responding well to the dialysis but with anything it is hard on a 12 year old, it makes her belly hurt' she gets sick occasionally and she just, misses her own bed.

the money raised for Karma will be so Karma can do things and live as normal as she possibly can. My parents and sister are working hard to train so she can come home. Her particular machine will also allow her some freedoms which we are grateful for' but again we will not take any day with her for granted. We thank all of you for helping in this time and we hope in a few months her body is better and we can start looking for a donor!
