My name is Taylor and I’ve never asked for money before but this is my kitten, Karma, and she needs life saving surgery.

My children and I adopted Karma from a rescue on September 26th with the knowledge that she had a previous hip fracture that was healing. We fell absolutely in love with her over the weekend only to receive devastating news on Monday when I took her to the vet.

My vet noticed her breathing heavily and recommended a chest x ray. They discovered a diaphragmatic hernia which essentially means many of her abdominal organs are now in her chest cavity, causing her to be unable to expand her lungs fully. This was most likely due to being hit by a car at only 1 month old. Unfortunately the rescue only caught the hip issues and not the chest issues so they were unaware of her condition when they adopted her out to us. I was told our options were surgery or euthanasia.

The surgery is out of our price range, it is also out of the price range for the rescue. If I thought this cat had no hope I would easily choose euthanasia, but this cat is such a fighter. Despite her condition she is happy, playful, and curious. She sleeps snuggled in my neck and purrs. She plays with my children. She follows my older cat around and copies everything he does. She has been through SO much at only 9 weeks old and I would hate to have to euthanize this baby.

I named her after the Taylor Swift song Karma. “Karma is a cat purring in my lap ‘cause it loves me” There are so many important causes to give to and God bless anyone that gives, but if you could use some good “karma” I would be eternally grateful if you would consider donating towards her surgery cost.
