Karma for College: Helping Thomas reach his dream
Donation protected
People like to say that in this world there are givers and takers. I say that is a very pessimistic view; instead, view the world as people who help and people that need help. My wife, Rhea, and I are helpers. We are not wealthy, but whenever we can, and sometimes even when we can't afford to, we LOVE to help. The hard thing about being a helper is in turn asking for help, but that's what I am doing.
I am hoping that karma is real and all the good deeds we have done can help us pay for our son's college at the University of Oregon. His portion of tuition not covered by grants and scholarships is $45,000/year. If we can raise enough to cover even a single year, it would mean the world to us and our future debt burden.
Rhea and I aren't great at showing off our good deeds; we just try and be good people. So, I ask if either of us has ever helped you in some way, please tell the story in the comments, and let those stories speak to the character of who we are.
In closing, I would just like to thank everyone for taking the time to read this and give a couple thoughts we try and live by.
If you want better people, be better neighbors.
Be you, you're the only one that's perfect for the job.
At the end of the day, if you are happy with who you are, that's what truly matters.
And my favorite - Just Do Good.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you share it and maybe add a story of good things to the comments.
