Karlis’ Vehicle

My name is Karlis Williams. I am fundraising on behalf of receiving reliable transportation to go back and forth to work and also to wherever I need to be at any given time.

Long story in a nutshell…

I moved to Ashland, OR to be around supportive friends and sangha. Since I’ve been here, all had been well in my transition. No complaints.

I was in an accident on December 14th. My car was totaled in the accident. I’m grateful to still be here.

At the time I was volunteering for Golden Rule ReEntry, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. And they recently put me on the payroll. I am a Peer Support Specialist. I taxied participants to destinations and appointments. I ran the errands for Golden Rule ReEntry when we have events. Losing my vehicle was a total shock.

So I owed the car lot more than the blue book value. So I will still be in a deficit. However, I’m talking to the car lot to hopefully make arrangements where I will break even. Since what I’ve already paid and what they’re offering is way over what it’s worth… Neither here nor there…

Because I spent most of my adult life in and out of prison, being there for the formerly incarcerated when they need me is my passion. I can look back and wish I had someone there for me. I never stayed out over 6 months in my adult life. Next month, February 27th, it’ll be 6 years. So grateful.

Well now, I’m driven inside my passions and goals. And I’m not ashamed to ask for help. This also is a test.
