Please can you help me get my shit flipped!

For a very long time, I hadn’t allowed myself to entertain this as an option. If I decided I wanted bottom surgery, I would be staring down the barrel of an eight year wait list, knowing I needed change, and not being given it. It is hard to communicate to cis people, how soul destroying it is, to know exactly what you want, and also know you will need to wait an indefinite amount of time which is definitely over half a decade. It’s like someone takes the keys to your body and swallows them.

I’ve had friends that have taken both private and NHS routes and both have advised me to take the leap and start fundraising. Because of you all, I can take this into my own hands and have control over my own body. There are still a lot of unknowns, but I am hoping that now this is out, I will find peace in the fact that I am on my way. The surgery can become a tangible thing to work towards, rather than something being withheld from me.

Details:

Surgery cost - 20k-23.5k

(Based on several options... I'm waiting for this to be public before I approach specific surgeons for quotes.)

I plan on throwing a fucking huge fundraiser party in 2026 - aiming to raise the remaining 5k-7k (a highly optimistic but hopefully not insane target).

If I choose the more expensive option I will save to self fund the last couple thousand.

If I raise more than I need I will pass any extra funds on to other trans healthcare Gofundmes.

I would like anyone who is fundraising for their own surgeries to please not donate. You need that money.
