Hello, my name is Candace. Last month my sister Karlie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Karlie is a mother to two beautiful girls, a partner to their dad, and the best aunt my kids could ask for. Karlie has worked as a nurse for over 20 years. After taking care of other people’s family members for all those years, she is now having to step back from that career for an arduous year long journey of chemotherapy, surgery and potentially radiation. Karlie is also the primary bread winner for her family. Some of Karlie’s medications are not covered, and the estimate for just one of those is $10,000.00. My hope in making this page for her is that we can take care of her for a while, so she can focus on time at home with her kids when she’s feeling well enough, and on resting when she is not, without the weight of the financial burden on her.
