Karlee joined the world on July 2, 2020 as an easygoing, happy-go-lucky addition to the Scott Family. When she was 10 weeks old she began experiencing gastrointestinal pain which led her parents, Kevin and Janae, to search for ways to help her find relief. Answers were tough to come by, and over the weeks to come Karlee began to struggle with seemingly basic functions like eating and sleeping and it became clear that she was in constant pain and discomfort. Kevin and Janae knew that this was more than tummy issues and they worked even harder to find answers. Over the last six weeks they attended numerous doctors appointments, and visited Urgent Care and the Emergency Room with no clear answer at each turn. Late on the night of October 23rd Karlee’s legs were no longer able to move, Janae rushed her to the ER one final time, but this time answers would be found.
The news was every parent's worst nightmare: cancer.
Karlee has been diagnosed with Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumor (ATRT)
In this past week Karlee has braved MRI’s, broviac and g-tube insertions, intubation, cranial fluid draining and sedations. She is fighting so hard to overcome the challenges that her body is presenting her. Kevin and Janae are exhausting every possible option to help Karlee beat this cancer.
All contributions will go towards Karlee’s medical expenses and to allow Kevin and Janae the opportunity to spend as much time at the hospital supporting Karlee as possible.
Beyond monetary assistance you can help by showing support through prayer, positive thought or any other means of sending good vibes to the Scott Family as they endure tackling this unimaginable task.
