Karla was born 5/09/2005 and is currently a patient at Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital Stanford. She was admitted to the Cardiology unit in April 2016 due to an escalation in her heart failure management and has remained hospitalized since that time.
Karla has been closely followed by their heart failure and transplant team at their hospital for several years due to a complex congenital heart defect. She has been actively listed on the heart transplant waiting list for several years and remains on that list and is currently listed as a status 1A, which is the highest status on the list.
Her estimated lenght of stay is unknown, as it she is unable to be discharge until she receives a heart.
Understandably, this has been an incredibly stressful time for her family. Her parents have been dedicated caregivers, with her mother remaining bedside with Karla throughtout the majority of her hospitalization while her father commutes back and forth from their home in Sonoma, CA which is a two hour drive and continues to work to financially support the family.
Parents precense is not only legally required in order to provide consent to her care, but is also critical to her ongoing recovery and overall health.
With this being said, my name is Adriana Im making this gofund me page in hopes to help my mother in law and father in law raise some money to help them financially with bills, gas, tolls, etc...
Due to sense the begining of 2017 Karla went threw some very ruff patches and it was a must for her father to be by her bedside by Karla and his wife and was unable to work and now due to that they are having a little bit of financial problems.
